On March 14 the FCJH Bands will compete at the ISSMA Organizational Contest at Clark Pleasant Middle School. Some of the FCJH Eighth Grade Bands have been preparing for this contest since December 17.
There will be two eighth grade FCJH Bands performing at the contest. These bands include the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band. Both FCJH Grade Bands will perform three pieces of music.
Sarah Dunblaizer, one of the three FCJH Band Directors said, “We have worked really really hard the past two months.”
Ben Kappel, a Symphonic Band member says, “We have been working on this for a while, and I’m excited to see how we do in contest.”
Mrs.Dunblazer says, “Being flexible has been a key priority to our success, but I think across the board that all of our eighth grade students have handled the workload very maturely, and has risen to the appropriate occasion.”
If the FCJH Eighth Grade Bands get a gold medal or better and since the Jazz Band got a Gold Medal, the FCJH Bands could get a banner that represents their skill.
Ben Kappel, a Symphonic Band member says, “We have been working on this for a while, and I’m excited to see how we do in contest.”
Mrs.Dunblaizer also said, “I think that we are going really well, but again you never know what will happen on contest day, so I guess we’ll see what happens.”
